Where did you hear about The Fraser Foundation?

I heard about The Fraser Foundation through Jae himself, when he just began and shared it with the Little Scholars campuses! I wanted to share that working for Jae has allowed me so much opportunity and experience that I am so so grateful for, he is an amazing role model for educators and the number one advocate for our sector so I cannot thank him enough for all he does each and every day. 

What’s the best thing about working in this sector?

The best part about working in early learning for myself is building great relationships with the children while watching the children flourish and grow through their learning. There is never a dull moment in this industry! 

When did you decide to study further to become an early childhood teacher (ECT)?

I have always known I wanted to progress in my career and go as far as I can in the industry from when I began 10 years ago it wasn’t until about six years into my career that I knew that becoming an ECT was a huge goal for me - gradually I gained my Cert III as well as my Diploma and I knew the sky was the limit for me so there was never a better time for me to further my skills and knowledge to reach my next goal! 

Has being a step-parent had any effect on how you work with children?

Being a stepmum is one of the greatest things I do, I feel as though it hasn’t had an effect on how I work with children, but moreso working with children has positively affected how I parent as a stepmum! Working in the sector has taught me so much patience and understanding about children which I can use in my role as a step-parent! 

Where are you studying and when do you finish?

I’m studying with Swinburne Online and I finish in December!
