Founder’s Message

As a young boy I dreamed of becoming an educator, but coming from humble beginnings, going to university was a huge stretch. So much so that in order to achieve my dream, I had to go the long way around – which took more time and was much more difficult.

Fortunately, through the determination and strength that my mother passed on to me, I did achieve my dream; I became a teacher.

Ever since, I have had a greater sense of life purpose and a feeling of satisfaction that is hard to put into words. To me, it means that I play a valuable part in shaping the future; by guiding children through the learning process which lays the foundation for them to become our future leaders, innovators, scholars, explorers, entrepreneurs and humanitarians.

Teachers are arguably the most important members of our society. They give children purpose, set them up for success as citizens of our world, and inspire in them a drive to prosper and succeed in life.

Unfortunately, we know that there are many barriers that are preventing them from achieving this dream. The Fraser Foundation aims to remove those barriers and help, encourage, support and provide assistance for those passionate about early childhood education. Those who want to help children acquire knowledge, competence or virtue and ultimately set them up for a successful future.

We acknowledge that what we do today, with how we educate and care for children, directly impacts the future. We recognise the incredible honour we have of educating and caring for children.

This is why we have created the Fraser Foundation; to make a tangible commitment to redefining education pathways, by providing tailored scholarships to aspiring early learning educators.
