The Gundoo Project
The Fraser Foundation is supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people achieve their dreams of passing along their history, experiences, and culture to younger generations and become qualified early childhood teachers as part of our Gundoo project.
Our founder Jae has been visiting Cherbourg, an Aboriginal community town 170 kilometres north-west of Brisbane since early 2023 to learn more about challenges Aboriginal people face.
The Fraser Foundation is thrilled to support several Aboriginal educators achieve their dreams of passing along their history, experiences, and culture to younger generations and become qualified Early Childhood Teachers (ECTs), even more important now with the Queensland Government's funding of free kindergarten.
The Fraser Foundation is working with Aunti Jacqui, director of the Gundoo Early Learning Centre and Cherbourg State School principal to learn how to better support these incredible educators. Educators from Little Scholars School of Early Learning visit each month to support Gundoo Early Learning Centre so the educators can complete their studies.
The Fraser Foundation is funding training, coaching and support for the educators at Gundoo monthly with Michelle Reber from horizon2 Limited (RTO).
This partnership with Gundoo is a long term one and we are excited to continue to support passionate locals who desire to teach future generations and ensure that all children of this thriving community have the very best education and care from qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic educators.
